Threaded Together: A Stitch Social Experiment
October 4 – November 21, 2025 | Opening Reception: October 4, 12–3PM
Waterfall Arts is proud to present Threaded Together: A Stitch Social Experiment, on view from October 4 through November 21, 2025. The exhibition celebrates the artists of Stitch Social, a twice-monthly fiber arts community group that began in early 2023 and has become a vibrant thread in the tapestry of Waterfall Arts.
The show features work by 17 artists who use fiber-based materials and techniques—such as embroidery, knitting, crochet, felting, and weaving—to tell deeply personal stories, reflect on shared experiences, and build connections through craft. Whether traditional or experimental, functional or sculptural, each piece demonstrates the expressive power of fiber art.
“This exhibition is about much more than stitches,” says Program Director Amy Tingle, who helped found the group after the 2022 exhibition Radical Acts with Shannon Downey. “It’s about community care, storytelling, and creating space for voices that are often quieted. It’s a radical act to center yourself in your own narrative—and that’s exactly what this group has been doing.”
Stitch Social members gather on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month to share techniques, materials, and meals, as well as mutual support and friendship. Their work and their stories are woven into this powerful exhibition, which invites visitors to witness the strength of slow, intentional making.
