Monoprinting with Gelatin Plates

Many effects can be achieved in monotypes that are not possible with any other printing technique. In gelatin monoprinting a jelly-like material (homemade or store bought) is used as the printing plate. The soft surface of the gelatin plate is ideal for capturing fine details. Participants will play with color, templates, and mark making to build a layers of imagery to produce one of a kind artwork.

Monoprint Watercolor Painting

Watercolor monoprinting allows you to duplicate an image or reference painting while having your watercolor look like a print. Students will use watercolors paints in leu of printing inks, a non traditional approach to printmaking, offering an opportunity for experimentation for all levels.
