From the Archives: Gov. Anderson School Back in the Day

As many of you may have seen over the past month, Waterfall Arts is undergoing site work. Maybe you’ve felt the local earthquake and rumbling from the construction in the parking lot. Perhaps you’ve driven up through our new curb cut on High Street, or taken your child to watch the excavation and steamrolling for afternoon entertainment.

While researching for this project–and future renovations related to Waterfall Rising–the Belfast Historical Society and Museum gave us these old photos to enjoy. The Belfast Historical Society and Museum, as well as the Penobscot Marine Museum, are partnering with us in our upcoming summer exhibition about the Belfast waterfront. These organizations will hang many photographs “from way back when” in the very same building pictured below. Now it hosts our community arts organization, but then it was home to the students of the Governor Anderson School.

Take a look around, and share your memories with us below. We can’t wait to welcome you back to our improved–and safer–location!

Waterfall Arts COVID-19 Update

Until further notice, Waterfall Arts requires that all guests and artists registering for our classes and workshops are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or present a negative COVID-19 test (within 24-hours before class). A digital or physical copy of your vaccine card or test result can be presented at the door at the time of the class or emailed directly to our programming director prior to class start.

Masks are encouraged when social distancing is not possible.

** For youth programs, we ask for proof of vaccination (or negative COVID-19 test) of the household adults. If your child is vaccinated, you may submit the child’s COVID-19 vaccination information, instead.**
