MAPS (Maine-Aomori Printmaking Society) is an exhibition of prints by artists from Maine and Aomori, Japan, presented by Friends of Aomori, the non-profit organization that supports the Sister City relationship between the two states. MAPS is a multi-tiered exchange project developed to share prints, exhibitions, and artist residencies between Maine and Aomori on an ongoing basis. MAPS in 2015, and as since grown into a robust exchange resulting in fifteen exhibitions all over Maine and Aomori, and visiting artist delegations in 2016 and 2019. This exhibition will feature the fourth group of 20 prints exchanged and held in ongoing, matching collections by Friends of Aomori and the Munakata Memorial Museum of Art in Aomori City.
