This class will explore watercolor’s transparent qualities. Students will learn about washes, gradations, tonal values, manipulating and controlling the medium while being open to its endless surprises.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Lesia Sochor is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Art. Sochor is a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who believes “anyone has the ability” to create. Sochor has lived, painted,exhibited and taught in Maine for 30 years. She has been a visiting artist in schools through the Maine Arts Commission, co-founded the Art Annex, a school for youths and adults, taught in the public education system and has done several residencies. Most currently, she has been involved in teaching a teen art program in Morrill, ME.

NOTE: You will receive confirmation when you have successfully submitted the registration form. Your registration is not complete until payment has been received. Please try to register no later than one week prior to the first meeting of the class. All classes have minimum and maximum enrollment thresholds, so early registration will improve the chances of a class running and of your slot in it! Minimum enrollment for this class must be met by July 17 in order for it to run.

The student or parent/guardian of a minor student understands that Waterfall Arts faculty and staff do their best to create a safe environment in which to participate in activities and further agrees that they will not hold Waterfall Arts responsible for injuries or accidents.
