A four hour workshop designed to celebrate both watercolor and summer. This is a fun, exploratory class for for people working on all levels. Honoring the way watercolor paint moves and flows, we’ll use clear, focused techniques and playful, experimental approaches to make a variety of paintings. In the morning, we’ll use exercises and prompts to work on loose paintings, both solo and collaboratively. In the afternoon, we’ll use the skills and open energy we’ve cultivated to make our own summery works.
12-1 will be a break for lunch.

About the Instructor:
Making images has been at the center of Marcie’s life for more than 30 years. A graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology and Hampshire College, her work has been commissioned, published, collected, and exhibited around the world. For the past 25 years, she has lived and worked in Belfast, teaching in schools and workshops, creating books and works of Public Art. From 2011-14, she developed the ArtLab at the Center For Maine Contemporary Art. From 2014-18, she taught creative watercolor painting in classes on ships around the world. In 2020, a solo exhibition of paintings, “Being Here” was on view at the Zillman Art Museum in Bangor.
