Paste Papering the Forest

July 1 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

$45.00 – $65.00

Paste papering is like adult finger painting. It is a quick, wet, seemingly sloppy, but intentional method of decorating paper. A dance of choreographed steps and techniques, culminating in the papers you are hoping for, or ‘happy mistakes’. Inspired by Karen Olsen’s exhibition “The Embrace,” we will begin the morning with forest inspired colors, textures & marks. Then progress to other combinations that bring us joy. Paste paper can be used for collage, bookmaking, card making and more! All skill levels welcome.

About the instructor

Showing an early interest in the book arts, Joelle Webber had the good fortune to learn from many talents in her field. For fifteen years she traveled throughout Maine, selling journals and boxes bound with her paste papers. Transitioning towards artist books, Joelle combines her almost forty years of collected paper decorating and binding techniques with her love of philosophy, nature, writing and sculpture.
