Mail Room: A Grownup Play Date

May 17 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

$15.00 – $25.00
Waterfall Arts Paid Event - Grownup Play Date - Mail Room

Zines and Dreams: This month we’ll be exploring zine and miniature bookmaking. We’ll experiment with making one-page zines and books under 3″ tall to send to friends and family. We’ll also announce our call for art for our upcoming Mail Art Exhibition in the Corridor Gallery, Fall 2023.

Looking for a creative, fun and community building way to use your gifts to create connection? Mail Room is the place for you! An experimental, materials-based art making time, Mail Room is a space to create art that makes its way out of your studios and sketchbooks and into the world. A studio mentor will be available for guidance, mini-demos and creative questions, but this is primarily a self-directed art making time where you will have access to materials and the minds and hearts of other makers who share your passion for mail! Reserve time in your life to finally create and send that letter, postcard or package.

Mail Room is an ongoing project led by teaching artist Tara Morin and is the perfect accompaniment to our Midcoast Maine Collage Collective. The opportunity to participate in a culminating mail art exhibit at Waterfall Arts will be offered. BYOB. 21+ Tara Morin (aka Lowly Pencil) is an artist, art educator and illustrator living and working in Rockland, Maine.
