An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until April 7, 2023
This 6-week clay class focuses on wheel-based skills and basic forms such as cylinder and bowl. Students will learn the whole process of creating a functional vessel, including the following pot-making steps: centering, throwing basic forms such as a cylinder and bowl, trimming, decorating, handles and glazing.
Instructor: Misha Sanborn‘s experience in pottery began with her apprenticeship to potter Dan Finnegan, later becoming the Artist-in-Residence at LibertyTown Arts Workshop in Fredericksburg, VA where she taught both adult and child clay classes. After her residencies she occupied a studio at the art center and sold her work in the gallery and at craft shows. Two years ago her family relocated to Maine where she works from her home studio. She specializes in wheel-thrown, slip-trailed, functional pottery high-fired in a gas kiln. When she is not working on pottery she is homeschooling her two children.
