Hand bound Books with Joelle Webber: Link Stitch

April 20 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

$35.00 – $45.00

Expand your book binding skills and learn two new hand bound book techniques! French Sewn and Link Stitched.

Continuing our exploration of the book form, this class reinforces our vocabulary of book anatomy, the tools needed for hand book binding, and material considerations for making beginner book structures. The Link Stitched book is sewn into a folded paper cover with a concertina spine. Historically these hand stitched patterns would have been hidden by covers, but we will make them a decorative element of our books.

All tools and materials needed for the class will be provided.

About the instructor: Joelle Webber, our guest instructor for this class, has spent 40 years collecting book arts techniques in college & workshop settings. She now designs classes for many different communities of makers based on her experience in writing, paper decorating, collage, calligraphy, pop-up, paper sculpting, book binding and box making.
