Description: This camp gets high school-age writers into real-world settings to inspire their fictional story-writing. The setting of a story is much more than just the when and the where. It can feed your writing with color, movement, smells, music, and the characters who inhabit that setting. We’ll go outside, to the basement, the garden dirt, on the bridge, the streets of Belfast, discovering places bursting with stories. With Waterfall Arts as our home base, we’ll sleuth out inspiration, returning again and again to the foundations of craft, setting, world-building, and place as character. Campers are encouraged to generate lots of story-starts, write messy drafts, and then work on one story to completion.
