Clay: Altered Thrown Forms (Two-Day Workshop)

An event every day that begins at 8:00 AM, repeating until March 1, 2020
Join us for a two-day workshop! On Saturday, Jody will demonstrate various altering techniques that she uses. Cutting and adding, adding with coils, faceting, rib shaping, sculpting, and more will be covered. Participants will then have time to throw pots which they will alter on Sunday. Work may be taken home as greenware or separate arrangements may be made to bisque or fire the work at a later date.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR(S):
Jody Johnstone has been a full time, wood firing potter in Swanville, ME since 1997. She was an apprentice to National Living Treasure, Jun Isezaki in Bizen, Japan in 1994-1995. She designed and constructed a 24-foot-long anagama tunnel kiln in 1997 which she fires twice a year. She has exhibited through the country and her work has appeared in Ceramics Monthly, The Log Book and Studio Potter. Learn more about Jody at www.jodyjohnstonepottery.com.
