Beginning Glassblowing 8-week Class: Summer 2023

June 20 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

$450.00 – $550.00

This 8-week, fun-filled glassblowing class will introduce you to working with molten glass. Learn to make basic forms including paperweights, cups, vases, and bowls.  Explore color techniques to enrich each of your creations.  No experience necessary.  Space is limited to 6 students. Ages 18+ (ages 12-17 may participate with an adult)

Class dates: June 20, 27 and July 11, 18, 25 and August 1, 8, 15

About the Instructors:

Brian Frus is an artist, designer, educator, tech, and gallerist who has specialized with glass for over 25 years.  He enjoys projects creating custom and unique interior design, lighting, public art, awards, and sculpture.  Professor Frus retired from academia in 2021 to become a Maine based artist and gallery owner, where he continues to create and educate about glass art.  Learn more at www.BrianFrus.com and www.MainelyGallery.com

Brier Rose Werner has been blowing glass for 10 years at Atlantic Art Glass in Ellsworth, Maine and is a self-taught lamp worker who sells her glass pieces and jewelry throughout Downeast Maine. The work she creates is inspired by nature and the Hobbit series. She hopes her work looks like it was found in a hobbit hole or was picked off a tree branch!
