Artful Mending

July 23, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

Drop by during the Art Market to mend with us! In honor of our artist residency with Nina Elder, we are hosting a donation-based, drop-in mending session with some materials provided, from 10am-12pm on Friday, July 23rd. A teacher will be on hand to demonstrate the ancient art of mending and beautifying, borrowed from the Sashiko and Boro practices of Japan and Korea. Another art educator will be teaching and helping folks practice embroidery. More surprises to come! Save, reuse, beautify and love your old clothes, bags, and quilts. Holes and worn areas provide the background for artful mending.

RSVP below or just show up. Feel free to bring something you would like to mend, embellish, or repair!

Free, donations accepted.

Waterfall Arts COVID-19 Update

Until further notice, Waterfall Arts requires that all guests and artists registering for our classes and workshops are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or present a negative COVID-19 test (within 24-hours before class). A digital or physical copy of your vaccine card or test result can be presented at the door at the time of the class or emailed directly to our programming director amy@waterfallarts.org prior to class start.

Masks are encouraged when social distancing is not possible.

** For youth programs, we ask for proof of vaccination (or negative COVID-19 test) of the household adults. If your child is vaccinated, you may submit the child’s COVID-19 vaccination information, instead.**
