Fireside Chats – Hazel Mitchell remembers Ashley Bryan

Hazel Mitchell, local children’s book author and illustrator, shares a story during our first Fireside Chats event in December 2021 (on the theme of public libraries and books, in partnership with the Belfast Free Library) about revered author and artist Ashley Bryan. The following story is shared with permission from the storyteller:

Bryan recently passed away, and to celebrate his life and work in Maine, Belfast’s historic Colonial Theater will screen the feature film I Know A Man…Ashley Bryan (2016, from Kane Lewis Productions) on Saturday, March 5th at 7pm.

Waterfall Arts is pleased to host the event with discussion to follow the film, featuring Waterfall Arts founder Alan Crichton and renowned art curator (and former Chief Curator and Executive Director of the CMCA) Suzette McAvoy.
