Waterfall Arts invites artists and all members of the public to submit art for the 2017 annual Open Call show that will be on view from April 7 – May 12, 2017. This year’s theme for the Open Call show, in conjunction with this year’s overall theme of “Place and Belonging”, is “Home.” Individuals are asked to reflect on what home means to them. Is home a physical space, warm and cozy or is it a place of conflict and tension, or something in between? For you is home more of a psychological place, an invention of an ideal space or mental state?
Work can be abstract, realistic, conceptual or anything in between. It can depict a dream, an idea, a memory, or a daily reality. Individuals may submit one piece, with dimensions no larger than 36” X 36”. Three-dimensional pieces can be accommodated. Two-dimensional works MUST be properly framed with a hanging device securely attached or the work cannot be displayed. The show is not juried, all work will be included; there is no need to submit work beforehand.Work should be delivered to Waterfall Arts the week of March 28-31 during office hours (10-5 Tuesday through Friday). The public is invited to the opening reception for “Home” which will take place on Friday, April 7 from 5-8 pm.
