DIY Art Enrichment Workshop
March 12@6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
DIY Arts Enrichment Want to offer art making after school but don’t know where to start? Looking for quality art activities for your youth group but can only find crafts? Don’t feel like you could manage the mess of art making in your home? THIS IS THE WORKSHOP FOR YOU!
Bridget Matros will share the ins and outs of creative development, from what to expect from young artists to how to deal with glue sticks! Leave with a dollar-store materials list, easy activity ideas, and the know-how to set up and get going on your own art adventures!
This workshop is free, but a donation of $5 on your way out would of course be appreciated.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: This workshop is led by Youth & Family Outreach Coordinator, Bridget Matros. Matros came to Waterfall Arts with over 15 years of teaching art at every level and setting — from preschool circle-time to computer literacy classes for the elderly. A practicing artist herself, Matros developed and grew the Art Studio exhibit and program at the Boston Children’s Museum, is a published advocate for quality creative development in early childhood education, and has been deemed one of 21 “young leaders in arts education” by Harvard scholars.
The Youth & Family Outreach Program provides safe spaces for young artists to connect with themselves, each other, and the community through quality creative experiences. YFO is made possible by local business sponsors Bangor Savings bank, Little River Veterinary Hospital, The Green Store, and VeloInk. Additional support is provided by foundations such as the the Onion Foundation, the Maine Arts Commission, as well as individual donors.
Even though this workshop is free, preregistration is much appreciated. Fill out the form below to register.
