There is no better introduction to the fine art of photography than learning to shoot, process and print black and white photographs from film. Class time will include basic instruction in the use and handling of the 35mm single lens reflex camera, an overview of photographic technique, as well as the opportunity to develop film and print images in a traditional darkroom. Class time is spent with demonstrations, review of images, and assistance in the darkroom. Students should provide their own cameras (although a limited number of cameras will be available to loan), 35mm film, an old apron, pair of rubber gloves, an old small hand towel, and a notebook.
