In this fun and creative 2-day workshop, participants will explore the many variations of creating collage. Different hand decorating techniques will be used to stamp, print, and alter a variety of materials. Day two of the workshop will focus on collage assembly including layering of papers, glazing and stenciling. Many demonstrations and material options will provide a wide array of creative combinations and options for both beginning and experienced students.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Deborah Jellison is a midcoast Maine artist with over 25 years experience in teaching and art making. Her work ranges from collage, drawing, mixed media in installation to painting. She holds a master’s degree in Visual Arts from Vermont College of Art, Norwich, University where she focused on various art forms including collage, art quilt making, installation art and performance art as well as painting.
Deborah’s main area of interest and love is for portrait and figure painting and her work is often inspired by nature. Her most recent series combines figures, portraits and images from nature combined through a process of overlays and transparencies to achieve interwoven environments.
