Success with acrylic resist etching is right around the corner with this workshop! This workshop will introduce a product approach and a “mix yourself” approach to create a very effective roll on ground for copper plate etching. Kris will introduce B.I.G., developed by Andrew Baldwin of Wales, and a recipe Kris uses that students will learn to mix themselves. Both of these grounds offer good results and can be used for a hardground, softground, soft ground texture, and in combination with other material for lift ground. Other ground applications can be used from these materials, but focus will be on the previous info. Kris will spend time explaining and demonstrating the grounds as well as discussing creative uses. Then class members will apply grounds as a series of test plates. After this, an image plate will be started. We will take the plates all the way through etching to printing.
